Tuesday, February 6th, 2001   WKP 0.4.2 Released

Version 0.4.2 of the VP7 Way Kool Project is out. This release contains minor improvements and some reorganizations. At the same time WKP has been registered as an opensource project at SourceForge.

Friday, January 5th, 2001   ORO Upgrade

After initial negotiations and discussions in december 2000, VP7 finally decides to take part in the hardware/software upgrade of the Ole Rømer Observatory in Århus. It has been decided to replace the steering of both the 40cm and 50cm telescopes, buy new CCD cameras and design a distributed and automated control system for the whole observatory including a web interface.
The project is scheduled to run over a period of 1-2 years.

The VP7 website, vp7.dk, has been under revision for a couple of days now. Both the contents and the design have been improved - or at least changed...
Headlines from popular sites have been added and are updated automatically every hour or every 30 minutes, depending on the site.
The revision is planned to last for a few more days.

VP7 and The MONS Science Consortium signs a contract about maintenance of The MONS Information System. MONS (Measuring Oscillations in Nearby Stars) is going to be part of the next Danish satellite, Rømer, to be launched at the end of 2003.

Friday, April 28th, 2000   Official Opening

VP7 has been officially opened. Niels Bassler and Alexandru Csete has signed a partnership contract clarifying their individual role in the company. To mark this event a reception was held in Aarhus on Sunday, April 30th, where a sneak preview of The VP7 Way Kool Project was presented, and the official web-site was opened with a home baked www.vp7.dk-cake. Pictures from the opening will soon be available.
